Very unusual and hard to find, this compact is from Stratton of England. Although not marked as being made in England, Stratton compacts came from England. It has rippled edges and measures approximately 2.75 by 3.25 inches. It is hinged along the back. The top has an Asian theme with people characters and dragons.
When opened, the top portion has a mirror that is in great condition. The lower portion has a lipstick and a powder compartment. The powder compartment still has a small amount of powder. The lipstick pops up and from there you pull on the bottom of it to get to the actual tube of lipstick. There is about an inch of lipstick inside. It is a shade of red that is stated to be Super Lustrous II. The inside metal tube that holds the lipstick is removable and its my guess that new tubes can be purchased as it has info for Revlon printed along the side.
The estimated time frame on this is 1940 to 1950.
CONDITION:
My opinion is that the compact is in excellent condition for being possible over 70 years old. I don't see any scratches or dings on the top or bottom. You can see in my main photo that the lipstick tube has scratches, but I dont believe they are as prominent as my photo makes them out to be.

Also, every January the postal service increases shipping charges. This year, many price increases were a bit steep with some package categories adding as much as a dollar on to an already high shipping charge. I try to absorb some of the new charges but that's getting harder with each increase.
International shipping charges also took a tremendous leap. International shipping will now depend on the country. Buyer must contact seller for international shipping charges before making a purchase. Seller reserves the right to void any international transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
