Sylvester Andral Kilmer, MD started a prominent laboratory in the late 1870s in Binghamton, NY (US) after fame and attention drawn from his travels and speaking throughout the US. The addition of his brother Jonas as a partner started a very successful run of success due to Dr. Kilmer's fame for his many remedies. Swamp Root contained Buchu leaves, Oil of Juniper, Oil of Birch, Colombo Root, Swamp-Sassafras, Balsam Copaiba, Balsam Tolu, Skullcap leaves, Venice Turpentine, Valerian Root, Rhubarb Root, Mandrake Root, Peppermint herb, Aloes, Cinnamon and sugar and contained approximately 9 to 10-1/2% alcohol (20-25 proof).

The bottle is aqua in color. It measures 8 inches tall, 3 inches side to side, 1.75 inches front to back. It would have taken a stopper for closure. It is in remarkable condition for being over 100 years old.

At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. Also, every January the postal service increases shipping charges. This year, many price increases were a bit steep with some package categories adding as much as a dollar on to an already high shipping charge. I try to absorb some of the new charges but that's getting harder with each increase.
International shipping charges also took a tremendous leap. International shipping will now depend on the country. Buyer must contact seller for international shipping charges before making a purchase. All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
