This is one of a couple dozen antique prints/photos that I recently picked up at an estate sale. I've never purchased or offered art before because I have zero knowledge of that field, but during this two day sale, whatever was left at the end was going to the dump. These pictures just looked too old and too beautiful to let that happen.

This listing is for the one print that you see in my photo. I will be offering all the others as time permits.

From Wikipedia:
Fratelli Alinari is the world's oldest photographic firm founded in Florence, Italy in 1852. Its archives contains 5.5 million photographs, ranging from daguerreotypes to modern digital photos from around the world. In 1852, Leopoldo Alinari, with his brothers Giuseppe and Romualdo, founded the photographic workshop specializing in photographic portraiture, photos of art and historical monuments. Their photos range from vintage prints, glass plate negatives to film and fotocolors.

I spent hours researching just this one photo in an attempt to provide accurate information. I'm sure I viewed thousands of photos. I finally stumbled upon a Fratelli Alinari Museum website that stated that their collection is incomplete but they showed what they have access to. That's where I've obtained most of the info below.

Although I did not find this exact photo in the museum archives, I did locate two that were almost an exact match with just a slight difference in the angle. One stated " Giotto's bell tower in Piazza del Duomo in Florence, 1890" and the other one stated "View of the Duomo, the Baptistery and Giotto's Campanile in Florence, 1920-1930".

The two mentioned above have about a 30 year variance in time, but viewing them both, they appear to have been taken at about the same time frame as the one I have.

This photo measures just over 7.5 by 10 inches. It was mounted on thick pressed cardboard. (This all looks to be original and mounted at the same time the picture was made). Including the cardboard the actual size comes out to just under 10 by 12 inches.

There is printed information along the bottom. I will state what that says but where I have an * means I can't read the letter or symbol.
Along the bottom of the photo it reads "(Ed.* Alinari) P.* I.* N.* 1989. FIRENZE - Cattedrale. II campanile. (Giotto.)

CONDITION:
For being possibly over 100 years old, I think it's in excellent condition. You should be able to see in my photo that about mid way down the right side there are some brown spots. With the exception of maybe one spot, they are all about 1/8 of an inch or less in size. Also, if you turn the picture and look across it, at the top there is about a half inch wide strip of some residue. I don't see it looking straight on though. When lying flat on a table, there is a very slight curve in the cardboard. I'm sure that can be pressed out if it concerns you.

There are no rips tears or gouges.

UPDATE: SOMEONE SUGGESTED TO ME THAT THIS MAY BE A PAGE FROM A VERY OLD MAGAZINE, CUT OUT AND APPLIED TO MATTING. IF SO, WHOEVER MADE IT DID A VERY PROFESSIONAL LOOKING JOB.

Let me add that as stated above, I know nothing about art. I have tried to the best of my ability to describe what I see and what I've read about these prints. If you have further questions, or if you have any info you'd like to offer, just shoot me a 'question for seller" note and I'll try my best to provide a competent answer.

Buyer to pay USPS First Class Mail Parcel delivery charges of $5.99. Delivery is from Nevada.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT POSSIBLE PARTIAL REFUND OF SHIPPING CHARGES:
Every January the U.S. Postal Service increases the shipping prices. This year's increase is beyond any we've seen in previous years. Before the 2019 increase, shipping costs were based on weight. A package weighing less than one pound cost the same amount regardless if it was mailed 2 miles away, or from coast to coast. Packages weighing over 1 pound were priced by what the destination zipcode was.

Now, the postal service has divided the United States in to 8 zones and all packages are charged by weight, size, and destination zone. Now it is not possible to state a shipping cost and have it be valid regardless if the package is traveling 2 miles or all the way to the east coast. I am in Nevada and probably 90% of the packages I mail go eastward, and a majority of them go all the way to the east coast.

To complicate this even further, Google will not show items for sale unless they have a designated cost, or unless the seller uses calculated shipping. My web host is not equipped to figure calculated shipping, so I have to quote a shipping charge using the east coast as the final destination and then refund over payments. When I return the overage, I usually do so by including cash inside the package when it's shipped. My feedback page will show verification that I do return overpayments.

As a buyer, there are two choices. If you over pay on the shipping charges, I refund an appropriate amount to cover the over payment OR if you'd like to send me a message stating your zip code and the item you are interested in, I can quote you an exact shipping charge and send you a custom invoice with an accurate shipping charge.

About Combined Shipping:
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased, but as stated above, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of over payment. If you are uncomfortable with that, send me a message with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.

INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES
Due to claims that merchandise is not being received at various international countries (although Customs tracking verifies the delivery), I will no longer be able to process international orders unless payment is made with U.S. currency, including conversion fees. Orders will be processed after funds have cleared a U.S. bank. PAYPAL WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES. Seller reserves the right to void any international transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.

All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
