There are 3 newspapers in this listing, but only one is complete with all sections and pages.

The complete newspaper is from the morning of October 18, 1989. That's the morning after the earthquake and the Contra Costa Times only printed a morning paper so this would be the first paper printed after the disaster. There are many stories and photos about the quake and the falling bridges and buildings. This is also the quake that cancelled the World Series.

Of the other 2 newspapers, one is dated October 19th 1989 (2 days after the quake). For this paper there is only the first, or main section. There is new reporting on additional damage that was discovered since the previous day's paper.

The last paper is dated October 20th, 1989. It also has the first, or main section, plus there are 2 additional special sections.

I see no tears and I see no writing on any of the 3 newspapers pages.

EXPLANATION OF SHIPPING CHARGES:
Google will not include items in their search pages unless a shipping charge is stated or unless calculated shipping is offered. Calculated shipping is very often quoted incorrectly so I choose to post a charge using the east coast as the destination. If you live in or near California, your charges may be less and if so I will refund a portion of those charges. If you feel uncomfortable with that, just send me an email with your zipcode and I'll quote you an exact delivery charge.

Also, due to recent changes in the Postal Rules, newspapers can no longer be sent via Media Mail. I mean, I could do it, but they are checking packages and if caught you will get a "Postage Due" notice that must be paid before the package will be left. So, I'd rather be safe.

That being said, buyer to pay no more than $9.95 Priority Mail delivery charges, again, possibly less depending on your location.

SHIPPING CHARGE INFO:
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.

Also, every January the postal service increases shipping charges. This year, many price increases were a bit steep with some package categories adding as much as a dollar on to an already high shipping charge. I try to absorb some of the new charges but that's getting harder with each increase.

International shipping charges also took a tremendous leap. International shipping will now depend on the country. Buyer must contact seller for international shipping charges before making a purchase. Seller reserves the right to void any international transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.

All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
