Marcel Boucher Peacock Brooch and Earring Set, Vintage 1960s

This stunning Peacock brooch and earring set is a creation from Marcel Boucher. Boucher was trained in Paris France at Cartier and was a designer for Mazer before becoming a creator of his own pieces. The Boucher name quickly became known for exceptional quality and is highly sought after today. In fact, this set is one of his most collectible pieces.

The set is signed on the brooch and on each earring. The brooch also has a unique serial number. I believe that number is 28908, but it's a little hard to read. It is featured on pages 48 and 49 in Fred Rezazadeh's book "Costume Jewelry, A Practical Handbook and Value Guide" and also in Julia C. Carroll's book "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202" on page 314. The decade of the 1960s is referenced.

The materials are gold plated metal with the peacock's head and body being deep blue enamel. The remainder of the body is pave set sapphire blue rhinestones. The feathers consist of various sizes of emerald green rhinestones and chrysoprase cabochons. Each feather tip has jade colored cabochons that match the main stone in each earring. Along with the jade colored main stone in the earrings, each earring also has numerous sapphire blue rhinestones.

The brooch measures about 1.75 by 2 inches and has a roll over clasp on back. The earrings measure about 3/4 by 1/2 inch and have clip backs.

The condition on all pieces is excellent. There are no missing stones and no chips in the enamel. The clasp works perfectly.

The set will be mailed via USPS First Class Mail Parcel. The package will carry full insurance and will require a signature at the time of delivery. Seller will pay insurance and signature fees. Buyer to pay $6.95 mailing charges.

With this year's postal increase, all shipping charges increased and international shipping took a tremendous leap.

All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
