This set of antique pivoting window sash locks came from an old Victorian house in northern California that was to be demolished. I spoke with a neighbor and was told that several of the homes on the street were built in the late 1920s to early 1930s. I do not know if the locks are original to the date of when the home was built, but I would have guessed they were probably from the 1930s.
Researching these online, I saw several statements of "window casement fastener hardware was usually for prewar buildings".
I believe the locks are cast iron, but am not sure. The handle pivots 360 degrees, so these can be used in either an upward motion, or a downward motion. The base plate measures 2 inches by 1-1/8th inch. There are 4 screw holes (screws not included). They are black in color with is a small amount of white paint along the very bottom.
