Arizona's ghost towns exemplify man's courage, tenacity, and perhaps even foolishness in his search for wealth. Inevitable by-products of the development of gold, silver, copper, and other mineral deposits in Arizona, some of these communities mushroomed overnight into a hodgepodge of tents and makeshift homes, while others developed over a period of years into tidy, well-planned town sites. Whatever their design, intent, or purpose, when their existence was no longer profitable they slipped into the category of ghost towns.
Ghost Towns of Arizona was written by James E. and Barbara H. Sherman. They did not start out to write a book, they just wanted to visit all the ghost towns in Arizona but needed to gather more historical information, maps, photos, etc. The information they gathered turned out to be much more than they anticipated and so they turned their research in to this book.
The book is the 1st Edition, 2nd printing and is dated 1970. Although it was printed a while back, one online review states that most towns are still available for the public to visit. I have two of this exact book and will be keeping one. Being a new resident of Arizona, I've already used one and visited several sites by using the maps, directions, and history listed in the book. The book is softcover measuring 8.5 by 11 inches with 211 pages and is in wonderful condition. There are no rips, tears, or writing inside. There is a small return address label on the inside of the front cover.
Buyer to pay USPS Media Mail delivery charges of $4.95. Depending on your location, Media Mail can take 4 to 10 days for delivery. If you would prefer Priority Mail for quicker delivery just let me know and I can give you a quote on that service. Delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, or American territories will have to be via Priority Mail as the postal service will not quote a delivery time for Media Mail to those locations.

I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items will safely fit into a single box. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
Also, every January the postal service increases shipping charges. This year, many price increases were a bit steep with some package categories adding as much as a dollar on to an already high shipping charge. I try to absorb some of the new charges but that's getting harder with each increase.
International shipping charges also took a tremendous leap. International shipping will now depend on the country. Buyer must contact seller for international shipping charges before making a purchase. Seller reserves the right to void any international transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.
