A Bluejackets Manual was, and still is, known as the "Bible" for U.S. Navy personnel. It provided information about a wide range of Navy topics such as identification of country flags, navigation, firearms, first aid, personnel ranks and insignias, knot tying, first aid, and basically any and all information that the sailor would need to know. The manual was issued to all enlistees by the United States Naval Institute, Annapolis, Maryland. Although it is for Navy personnel, there is a ton of information here for civilians as well.
This listing is for the book dated 1940. (I have another one dated 1944 that will be in another listing). This one has 784 pages. There are hundreds of pictures and illustrations. It is also signed on one of the first pages by a past owner. The writing says:
A.W. Davis (after the name it says A.S., 4S, or 9S. Sorry, it's old writing and I can't quite make out the letters).
And then a city in New York, possibly Sanborn, but again, it's hard to read.
The condition is great. It did, at one time, have a crease down the front cover but that has been straightened out.
Delivery will be via USPS Media Mail from Arizona. Media Mail takes a couple days longer than regular mail, so please allow about a week for delivery. Buyer to pay delivery charges of $5.20.
SHIPPING CHARGE INFO:
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
Also, every January the postal service increases shipping charges. This year, many price increases were a bit steep with some package categories adding as much as a dollar on to an already high shipping charge. I try to absorb some of the new charges but that's getting harder with each increase.
International shipping charges also took a tremendous leap. International shipping will now depend on the country. Buyer must contact seller for international shipping charges before making a purchase. Seller reserves the right to void any international transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
