I obtained these 10 photos recently at an estate sale. They were all in an envelope together. They appear to be photos of construction projects. None say what the particular circumstances are. All but one have a photo shop name and address on the back. Only one, (the postcard in the lower right corner of my photo) has a date and that is 1923. Looking at the cars in the center of my photo, I'd say that time frame could suit all the photos.
In my main photo, top row, the photo on the left has no location info. The other 3 photos in the top row are all stamped on the back "Nelson's Photo Shop, Canton, So. Dak.
These 3 photos are also stamped "Nelson's Photo Shop, Canton, So. Dak."
The photo on the left and the photo in the center are stamped on the back "Canedy's Camera Shop, Sioux Falls, S.D.". The photo on the right is actually a real picture postcard.
The front states it is a photo of "Salem S.D. From An Aeroplane." The back has a cancelled one cent stamp and a postmark dated Sep 27, 1923, 9am Salem S. Dak. The postcard was addressed to H. W. Guernsey, Sou Falls S.D., 620 Webber Ave. I'm not sure about the name in the message area, it could be Bro Herm, but the message says "Yes we will be home Sunday and will look for you. We are all well." It is signed 'Jim'.
