I recently purchased this knife at an estate sale. It was wrapped in cloth and packed in a small box along with a soldiers diary. There are no markings on this knife but the diary was dated 1916 and tells about the writer's war activities from the time of leaving the U.S and serving in France.
Because this knife and the diary were the only two items in the box, I am assuming they belonged to the same guy and have the same time frame associated with them. By the way, the diary was offered in a separate listing and has been sold. This listing is for the knife only.
It is one piece solid metal. I do not know if the material is brass or copper. It measures 12-1/4 inches long. There are no breaks or cracks in the metal. There is patina and I will leave that for the new owner to decide to remove or not.
Delivery will be via USPS Priority Mail. Buyer to pay delivery charges of $10.95. Shipping is from Nevada.
SPECIAL NOTE about possible partial REFUND of shipping charges:
Every January the postal service increases shipping charges. Previously, shipping charges were based solely on weight and zip code. This year the postal service went a bit overboard. Now, with this year's increase, the postal service has divided the United States in to 8 zones and all packages are charged by weight, size, and destination zone. This latest increase has added an additional .96 cents to up to $1.83 on packages. I try to absorb some of the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in several years, but that's getting harder with each increase.
To complicate things even further, Google will not promote or show items for sale unless they have a designated cost, or unless the seller uses calculated shipping. My web host is not equipped to figure calculated shipping, so I have to quote a shipping charge using the east coast as the final destination and then refund over payments. When I return the overage, I usually do so by including cash inside the package when it's shipped. My feedback page will show verification that I do return overpayments.
COMBINED SHIPPING INFORMATION
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can fit safely into a single box. However, my web host does not have the ability to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with any of that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
International shipping charges also took a tremendous leap. International shipping will now depend on the country. Buyer must contact seller for international shipping charges before making a purchase. Seller reserves the right to void any international transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
