Scrapbook, 1930s-50s WWII, Military Focus, Iowa Nebraska CA

This is a large scrapbook measuring 10.75 by 15 inches. I purchased it and one other at my local flea market, so I have no info regarding its origin. This listing is for the one scrapbook you see in my photo. I'll just have to state the types of items that I see inside.

It appears that the locations most mentioned are around the area of Clarinda Iowa, Omaha Nebraska and Oakland California.

There are many loose newspaper articles that were not attached on to pages. There are military announcements, wedding announcements, news of the day articles, postcards, and other types of items.

Items that are attached to pages were done so using glue.

For the Clarinda items, there are quite a few dated 1944 and many about WWII. Many are 'people" articles.
For the Omaha Nebraska items, there are 'news of the day" articles about people and there are articles about a flood they were hit with in 1943.

For the Oakland California items, there are various articles that mostly date between 1952 to 1954.

The postcards seem to be mainly from Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, and California. There are also quite a few from the Clarinda and Omaha areas. The postcards were glued to the pages.

Several pages in the back have magazine cut out pictures of movie stars from the time frame. The middle section of the scrapbook is empty and I assume that's where the many newspaper articles must have been inserted.

All in all, the scrapbook is a great time capsule about life in the mid states during a time of war.

EXPLANATION OF SHIPPING CHARGES:
Google will not include items in their search pages unless a shipping charge is stated or unless calculated shipping is offered. Calculated shipping is very often quoted incorrectly so I choose to post a charge using the east coast as the destination. If you live in or near California, your charges may be less and if so I will refund a portion of those charges. If you feel uncomfortable with that, just send me an email with your zipcode and I'll quote you an exact delivery charge.

Due to postal rules, scrapbooks cannot be mailed via USPS Media Mail, delivery will be via USPS Priority Mail.

That being said, buyer to pay no more than $10.95 Priority Mail delivery charges, and again, possibly less depending on your location.

SHIPPING CHARGE INFO:
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.

Also, every January the postal service increases shipping charges. This year, many price increases were a bit steep with some package categories adding as much as a dollar on to an already high shipping charge. I try to absorb some of the new charges but that's getting harder with each increase.

International shipping charges also took a tremendous leap. International shipping will now depend on the country. Buyer must contact seller for international shipping charges before making a purchase. Seller reserves the right to void any international transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.

All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
