Sunland California photo postcard, Los Angeles County.
Photo postcard shows 1940s street scene along Foothill Blvd. Some locations shown are Barkers 5 and 10, Morrill's Real Estate, Hober's Sunland Pharmacy. Also shows the Sunland Sign. Measures 5 by 7 inches.
This postcard features Sunland Boulevard in Sunland California. The area is commonly referred to as Sunland Tujunga. The upper left corner on the back of the card states Sunland California in the Forty's. NOTE: Barkers 5 & 10, Morrill's Real Estate, and Hober's Sunland Pharmacy, with the prominent Sunland Sign.
The postcard was never written on, addressed, or mailed.
Regarding the age of the card: I obtained it at an estate sale so unsure of the age. I'm sure it's not from the 1940s because the makers information is noted with their address in Los Angeles, CA 90048. Zipcodes started appearing in the late 1950s, so there's the proof that it's not from the 40s.
It has an old brownish look to it and I don't know if that's from exposure, or if it was made with that coloring. It has one very small tear on the lower left area, so small that I can't give you a measurement on it. Also, there is a pin hole at the center top and left corner, so someone pinned it to a board or wall at one time.
CONDITION UPDATE - I just noticed that there is a new tear on the card. It does not show in my pictures and I will get new pictures posted asap. The tear is more like a clean cut. It's a tad less than a half inch and it's above the letter D in the Sunland sign. It's at the top edge.
Delivery will be via USPS 1st Class Mail from Nevada. The delivery charge is $2.00.
SHIPPING COST INFO:
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can safely fit into a single box. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
Also, every January the postal service increases shipping charges. This year, many price increases were a bit steep with some package categories adding as much as a dollar on to an already high shipping charge. I try to absorb some of the new charges but that's getting harder with each increase.
International shipping charges also took a tremendous leap. International shipping will now depend on the country. Buyer must contact seller for international shipping charges before making a purchase. Seller reserves the right to void any international transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
