This is one of the more unusual pieces I've come across in a very long time. It's an elephant head made from a pine cone. I purchased this about a year ago at an estate sale and have been watching online for a comparison ever since I brought it home but have never found anything like it. I've found squirrels, a frog, tree ornaments, gnomes, etc, but no elephant heads and nothing this big.
The base measures about 4 inches across the bottom. I can't determine if the elephants head (from where the ears would be up to the tip of the trunk) is part of the pine cone or not. Although not marked, the piece has to be hand carved and hand made. Once you look at the bottom and feel the underside, you know it is an actual pine cone. I'd call this 'folk art'.

SPECIAL NOTE about SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly and again in November for the holiday season (so 3 times each year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their “Delivering for America” plan in which they hope to become profitable. It’s a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we’ve got years to go with multiple price increases each year. I try to absorb some of the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year, unfortunately, I have to increase the shipping. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the changes when possible.
