I purchased this medal along with several others from a little lady who will be moving in to a retirement home and is in the process of selling many of her treasures that she cannot take with her. She said the medal belonged to her uncle and that it was awarded to him for being wounded during WWII. She didn't remember where or what the circumstances were. She said he served almost 40 years in the military and retired around 1990.
The medal is in great condition, but there are few black dots by George Washington's ear. The back has a couple of faint scratches but those probably wouldn't be seen anyway.
NOTICE:
Looking at my photo, you'll see that in the presentation box, above the medal, there is a place for an additional item. That is where the ribbon bar would have been. The ribbon bar is missing from this set but there are several listed online and one can be added.
The medal will come housed in its original case. The inside of the case is plush velvet lined. I believe the case is leather. The case measures 6.5 x 3.5 x 1 inch. The front of the case says "Purple Heart" in gold gilded lettering. Looking straight on, the case looks great but if you turn it to view the top you'll see some age related flaking in the material.

Delivery will be via US Postal Service. Shipping is from California. Buyer to pay delivery charges of $6.80. That price includes insurance and signature confirmation. Since those two safeguards are for the protection of us both, I split those costs with the buyer.
