This pin was part of a large lot of over 700 military DUI DI insignia pins purchased at an estate sale. The seller was an avid collector of military items and he specialized in the WWII and Vietnam era. Unfortunately, I do not know the date of this pin but the design was approved in 1958.
The card that it was attached to states "Training Pers". The pin measures 1-1/4 inch across by 1 inch tall at the widest points. It is enameled. It has the unit motto of "This We'll Defend" on the front.
I have six of this particular pin. Three are marked on the back with "N.S. Meyer New York" and have a double shield figure. Two of those 3 also say "Made in USA". Two other pins are marked "M.P.S. M-21". The last pin is marked "Polk N.Y.C. P21". If more than one pin is ordered, I will ship pairs as long as pairs are available. If you have a preference just let me know. All pins have a double clutch holder.
NOTE, I stated in my title that these are "green and gold" in color. That's because I have a 7th pin, exactly like these 6 but the coloring on it is gray and green. It will be in a separate listing.
Also, you'll notice in my photo that the pin appears to have darkened areas in the coloring. Those darker areas are just a reflection of the dark shirt I was wearing while taking the photos.
Although small, when wrapped it will exceed the postal limit of one quarter of an inch for normal envelope mailing. Delivery will be via USPS First Class Mail Package. Buyer to pay delivery charges of $4.15.
