Insignia DUI pin for the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. Originally designed for the 3rd Cavalry Regiment on November 25, 1922 and was redesigned for the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment on December 18, 1951.
Green and gold in color measuring about 1 and 3/8ths inches across by 1 and 1/8th inch tall. Enamel and metal. Featured in the center is a trumpet with the mouthpiece up. There is a cord or sash wrapped on the trumpet. To the left of the trumpet is the word "Brave", to the right is the word "Rifles", and underneath is the number 3. The back has a double clutch holder. The pin is in excellent condition.
This pin was part of a large lot of over 700 military DUI DI insignia pins purchased at an estate sale. The seller was an avid collector of military items and he specialized in the WWII and Vietnam era, but unfortunately I can't narrow down the date on this pin. The past owner wrote "3rd Armored Cav" on the card it is attached to.
Although small, when wrapped it will exceed the postal limit of one quarter of an inch for normal envelope mailing. Delivery will be via USPS First Class Mail Package. Buyer to pay delivery charges of $5.75.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges.
