This U.S. Army 3rd Field Artillery DUI insignia pin was obtained from a large collection that I purchased at an estate sale. The previous owner was an avid military memorabilia collector. His main focus was on items from WWII and Vietnam, but would also pick up items from other time frames if they were rare or unusual. I purchased all the insignia pins that he had and there were about 700 of them.
He attached each pin to a small thin cardboard square. Any writing on the cardboard was put there by him and that's great because I can't imagine how long it would take me to look up and obtain information on over 700 pins. I'm using his information. He was the expert, so the information should be correct.

This distinctive unit insignia was approved on 11 August 1922. It was redesignated for the 3d Field Artillery Battalion on 25 March 1941. It was redesignated for the 3d Armored Field Artillery Battalion on 7 December 1943. The insignia was cancelled on 19 October 1959.
This pin measures 3/4 by 1.25 inches. It is enameled. The back is stamped "S21 Made in U.S.A.". It has a double clutch holder on back.
Although small, when wrapped it will exceed the postal limit of one quarter of an inch for normal envelope mailing. Delivery will be via USPS First Class Mail Package. Buyer to pay delivery charges of $5.75.
