68th Support Battalion Insignia Pin. When I obtained it, it was attached to a small homemade cardboard square. Written on the cardboard it says "68 Sup Bat". That would have been written by a past owner.
The front is marked with the logo "Wheels of Distinction". The back is marked in raised lettering "N.S. Meyer Inc New York" and "Made in U.S.A.". It has 2 shields, the shield on the left is a little blurry and I can't make out what it says, the shield on the right says "22M".
The pin measures about 1.25 by 1 inch. The back has a double clutch holder. One of the posts that the clutch holder attaches to is slightly bent but that doesn't seem to affect the security of the attachment.
I obtained a large lot of pins recently at an estate sale of a man who was a very serious pin collector. I was told he served in Vietnam so that was the time frame he specialized in but that he also collected pins from as early as WWI, WWII, and Korean War time frames.
This gentleman is moving into an assisted living facility, so his estate is being liquidated. The large lot of pins that I purchased consisted of 723 pins that he collected. I will list them several at a time in between my normal estate sale finds. If there is a particular unit's pin that you are searching for, just let me know because there's a good chance I'll have it.
You will receive the actual pin that you see in my photo. It is in excellent condition with all coloring being very vibrant. There are tiny faint scratches but they are not as bad as my camera zoom photo make them out to be.
Although small, when wrapped it will exceed the postal limit of one quarter of an inch for normal envelope mailing. Delivery will be via USPS First Class Mail Package. Buyer to pay delivery charges of $5.99.
A PERSONAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING COSTS ….
The shipping charges are set by the U.S. Postal Service.
Here’s the reason for the high charges….. Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become more profitable.
On top of the three increases, the postal service has now divided the nation in to 8 postal zones. Each time a package crosses into another zone, the price increases. I am in Arizona, so most all of my shipments pass through multiple zones.
It's a 10 year plan that the postal service started in 2021, so we've got years to go with multiple price increases of shipping charges each year. I fear seeing what the costs will be at the end of the plan. …..
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can fit safely into a single box or envelope. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES: Sorry, I do not ship to locations outside of the United States.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
