This 7th U.S. Army Aviation Battalion DUI insignia pin is from a large collection of pins that I purchased at an estate sale. The previous owner was an avid military memorabilia collector. His main focus was on items from WWII and Vietnam, but would also pick up items from other time frames if they were rare or unusual.
The pin is attached to a small thin cardboard square. Any writing on the cardboard was put there by the previous owner and that's great because I can't imagine how long it would take me to look up and obtain information on over 700 pins. I'm using his information. He was the expert, so the information should be correct.
I don't know the exact date on this pin but according to the U.S. Military Metals website, this design was approved in 1963 so it should be Vietnam time frame. The two color split represents day and night activity. The motto on the pin is "Lucky Seven". It measures about 1 inches side to side by 1.25 inches top to bottom. It is enameled. It has a double clutch holder on back.
There are some faint scratches and you should be able to see them in my photo, but you have to look at the pin on a sideways angle to see them.
Although small, when wrapped it will exceed the postal limit of one quarter of an inch for normal envelope mailing. Delivery will be via USPS First Class Mail Package. Buyer to pay delivery charges of $5.75.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become profitable. It's a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we've got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I try to absorb the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year unfortunately, I have to if I want to stay in business. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the increases when possible.
