82st U.S. Army Airborne DUI insignia pin. It has the ‘In Air On Land’ motto along the bottom. The pin measures a little over 1 inch.
The back is marked D22 Made in U.S.A. According to the Office of Heraldry that mark means it was made from the time frame of 1974 to present. The pin has double clutch holders.
The dark spots that you see in my photo along the bottom is a reflection and is not part of the pin.
The pin is part of a large collection of insignia pins that I purchased at an estate sale. They are attached to a small thin cardboard square. The writing on the cardboard was put there by the previous owner and that's great because I can't imagine how long it would take me to look up and obtain information on over 700 pins. The previous owner wrote "82 Airborne” on the cardboard holders.
