The Barbary Coast Hotel Casino was located at 3595 Las Vegas Blvd South from 1979 to 2007.
This is a $1 metal token coin dated 1979, so it’s one of the first year’s pieces. Obviously, it’s obsolete now.
One side of the coin says “Barbary Coast Hotel & Casino”, the other side shows the building. At the bottom of the building side is where it is dated 1979.
Per Wikipedia:
Originally opened by Michael Gaughan as the Barbary Coast on March 2, 1979. Boyd Gaming acquired the Barbary Coast in 2004. Boyd subsequently traded the Barbary Coast to Harrah's Entertainment. Harrah's finalized its acquisition in February 2007, and briefly closed the Barbary Coast before reopening it on March 1, 2007, as Bill's Gamblin" Hall and Saloon. The property closed on February 4, 2013, and reopened as The Cromwell on April 21, 2014.
Although small, once the coin is wrapped for protection, it will be too large for mailing in a standard envelope. Shipping will be via USPS First Class Mail Package. Buyer to pay $5.75 shipping charges. Shipping is from Arizona.
I’ll be listing quite a few casino dollar tokens and I can probably mail 4 or 5 for that $5.75 price. On multiple purchases my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items will safely fit into a single box. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become profitable. It's a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we've got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I try to absorb the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year unfortunately, I have to if I want to stay in business. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the increases when possible.
INTERNATIONAL PURCHASED: Sorry, I do not ship to locations outside of the United States.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they come from homes where smoking or pets were present. Unless otherwise stated, all items are sold in the same condition as when I obtained them.
