At an estate sale recently, I purchased a small box of old photographs. This is one of the photos from that box. From the photographer's information along the bottom of many of the cards, I believe they are all from two areas, one being Stockton California and the other being Athol Massachusetts. Several of the photos have what appears to be a name and address on the back, as if the photo was to be mailed. The name that I am seeing the most is Bishofberger of Lodi California.
Along the bottom of this card appear the words "Towne Simonds Block, Athol".
This particular card has no info on the back other than what appears to be a price of $12.50 and the initials HD. Ive seen many designations like that price and initials at antique stores where items are on consignment. I don't know for sure if that is the situation with this, but its my guess.
The card measures 6.5 by 4.25 inches. The photo is on off white cardstock with gold printing and borders. Using a photo dating website, it appears that this card was produced between the years of 1889 and 1896.
