Adorable nutcracker in the shape of an alligator. Measures 8 inches long. I’m not sure of the material it’s made from, but it’s either cast iron or cast brass. It’s back has a design of scales.
The only markings are on the bottom and it says “Pat Pend”.
I purchased it at an estate sale. The saller said it belonged to her grandfather and that it would be from the 1930s or 1940s.

SPECIAL NOTE about SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly and again in November for the holiday season (so 3 times each year) the postal service increases shipping charges. Previously, shipping charges were based on weight and zip code. Now, the postal service has divided the United States in to 8 zones and all packages are charged by weight, size, and destination zone.
