There is no particular railway company name on this sign, and there is no date. It could be original, or it could be a reproduction. I purchased it at an estate sale, so there was no one to ask.
The sign reads: "District Railway Notice. In the absence of the Ladies Waiting Room Attendant the Station Inspector is authorized to look in occasionally to see that no improper use is made of this room. (By Order)". This is the type of sign I would hang on my bathroom door if I were going to keep it. It's a great conversation piece.
The sign is metal. It measures 10.75 by 7.5 inches. There are 4 pre-drilled holes for hanging, one in each corner. I see no dents, gouges, or major scrapes.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become profitable. It's a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we've got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year.
