Hi-Way 39 Drive In Theater, Westminster Garden Grove Calif

The Hi-Way 39 drive-in theater was located on Highway 39 in Westminster (although many considered it Garden Grove) California. The name of the street 'Highway 39" would eventually be changed to Beach Blvd. The theater opened on June 29, 1955 as the largest drive in in southern California. It closed on March 31, 1997. Sadly, the land where the theater was located became a Wal-Mart and a Lowe's.

This photo was taken the last night before the sign was torn down and the parking area was bulldozed and carried away chunk by chunk. The photo measures 4 by 6 inches.
