Job’s Tears. From Best Loved Quilt Patterns Series by Oxmoor House Inc. Pattern number 64310-B
From the introduction:
Our foremothers frugally stitched irregular pieces or “strings” of fabric that were too small for other purposes onto newspaper or catalog pages. They then joined these blocks together to make unique designs. Though such thriftiness is not usually necessary today, string piecing is a fabulous way to use the smallest pieces from your scrap bag.
According to the instructions, this pattern will produce a quilt with 8 inch square blocks resulting in either a twin size quilt measuring 68 by 76 inches, or a queen size quilt measuring 84 by 92 inches. I would imagine if you’d like a larger (or smaller) quilt, just change the amount of blocks to make.
The pattern and templates offered in this listing are designated in the “Special Techniques” category. You will receive the brochure which tells the sizes, fabric requirements, amount of pieces to cut, and instructions for piecing your quilt. You will also receive the actual templates that is the exact size needed to cut all the pieces of material. The template is made of a hard, yet flexible plastic.
This pattern has never been used. If you receive templates that appears to have been cut out, that's because when first mailed out, templates for 2 or more quilts may have been imprinted on one 8 by 12 inch template sheet. To provide you with just the templates that you'll need for making this quilt, I had to separate them from unrelated templates.
About the series:
This is one of probably a hundred quilt patterns that I will be listing. These patterns were part of a monthly subscription series. Each month, the recipient would receive a pack of 3 different patterns. It took several years to obtain the complete set.
Buyer to pay USPS First Class Mail parcel delivery charges of $3.75. Mailing is from Arizona.
SPECIAL NOTE about SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly and again in November for the holiday season (so 3 times each year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their “Delivering for America” plan in which they hope to become profitable. It’s a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we’ve got years to go with multiple price increases each year. I try to absorb some of the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year, unfortunately, I have to increase the shipping. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the changes when possible.
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can fit safely into a single box or envelope. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES: Sorry, I do not ship to locations outside of the United States.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
