This 8 by 10 black and white photo of John Vella is signed with the following:
"To Moises, #1 Raider Fan!, John Vella, 1972-80, SB X1". The SB X1 refers to Superbowl 11 in Pasadena California. The Raiders beat the Vikings 32 to 14.
Towards the bottom right side it also says 2/95. I purchased the photo at an estate sale, so I don't know if the 2/95 means he signed 95 photos and this is the second one, or if the photo was signed years later in February 1995.
At the moment the photo is protected in a notebook sleeve, one of those hard back sleeves with a see-thru top cover. All but about 3/4 of an inch on the right side is under this see-thru cover. The see-thru cover pulls all the way open but the photo appears to be hung up or stuck against the backing. (I don't want to force it loose and take a chance of damaging the photo). I don't believe it's totally stuck because all the outer edges lift up. It could be a good thing if it is stuck because that will provide a bit of security against bends. You could keep it as is, or cut the excess backing away along each edge of the photo and still have the support.
Although flat, it could mail in a standard large size envelope but you can bet it's going to be bent and maybe folded on its way to you. So, it will ship it in a large flat thick padded mailer. Delivery will be from Nevada via USPS First Class Mail parcel.

SPECIAL NOTE about SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly and again in November for the holiday season (so 3 times each year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their “Delivering for America” plan in which they hope to become profitable. It’s a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we’ve got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can fit safely into a single box or envelope. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
