Back in the 1950s Western Germany turned out some of the most fabulous paper mache candy container eggs in various sizes. When new, they came with candy and other Easter items inside. Today, they can be used for a variety of items and are highly collectible.
This egg stands about 4.5 inches tall by 3 inches across. The outside features animal friends walking together on a dirt path through a flower garden. There's a duck, a chicken, a rabbit, and a ladybug. In the background are rolling hillsides with several farm houses. Both the top and the bottom pieces have the same theme.
The inside has a floral pattern and mixed in with the vines are the words "Made in Western Germany".
There is a small piece of twine at the top for hanging if desired.
The condition is excellent. I see no dents, cracks, or breakage of any kind.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become profitable.
