The Nourot Glass Studio of Benicia California have been producing elegant art glass pieces since 1974. The studio has been glass makers to the Pope, U.S. Presidents, major corporations, and anyone else who appreciates extreme quality. All pieces are hand made and signed, as is this one.
I purchased this sphere, orb, paperweight (whichever you prefer to call it) recently at an estate sale. As for the size, holding a ruler up to it, it measures about 3.5 inches side to side, so it's considered mid to large range. For comparison purposes, it's about the size of a softball. It has a 2.25 inch flat spot on bottom for sitting stationary. It is signed on the bottom with "Nourot.WW.10.01.JW".
It's clear glass with a yellow coil type of design inside with flakes of gold. There are also white swirls. I did wash it using Dawn dish soap, but I didn't get carried away for fear of dropping it.
It is a heavy piece. Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail packaging. The weight is 2 pounds. It will be shipped fully insured.

"SPECIAL NOTE about SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly and again in November for the holiday season (so 3 times each year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their “Delivering for America” plan in which they hope to become profitable. It’s a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we’ve got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I try to absorb some of the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year, unfortunately, I have to increase the shipping. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the charges when possible.
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can fit safely into a single box or envelope. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
