Halloween frog ‘Murgatroyd’ is a hinged trinket box with the inside being just the right size for earrings, or ring, or any small piece of jewelry.
In the closed position, Murgatroyd stands 2.5 inches tall and the bottom measures 1.75 by 2 inches. When opened, the ‘bowl’ measures 1 inch across by about 1/2 inch deep.
He is 100% handmade and is painstakingly detailed with gem quality Austrian crystal and precious metals. He’s topped off with an enamel finish.
Made by Artform Fine Collectibles and is their part number AFOA11016. The bottom is marked “Work of Art” which associates the piece with the “Objet d’Art” line. Recommended for ages 10 years and older.
Condition: There are no chips, breakage, or missing stones. There also is no original box. On each side of his hat there is a small indent (about the size of a pencil dot). Since the indents are right across from each other, I believe it has something to do with the manufacturing of the piece. These indents can’t really be seen unless you’re looking for them, but I thought I should mention them.
The age is unknown to me because as stated I purchased it at an estate sale. The collection that I purchased consisted of close to 80 hinged trinket boxes, most in their original boxes marked “Objet d’art” and “Work of Art”. There were all types of animals, old cars, plants, etc. I will be listing them all as time allows so be sure to check my other items.
