This adorable little oil can belonged to my grandmother. She always kept it by her sewing machine. I know that it is at least from before 1950 because I remember it well as a child.
Some people refer to these very small cans as "oil dropper can" and "thumb pump oil can". I can see it being called a dropper can, but I've no idea what a thumb pump can is.
It stands 2.75 inches tall and measures about 1.75 inches across the bottom. It has a screw top that opens and closes with ease. It is empty. I emptied the last few remaining drops of oil out about 6 months ago. I cleaned the inside with q-tips and let it air out for several days. At that time there were no leaks and since it's been wrapped and bagged since then I have to assume there are still no leaks. There is some nice old patina built up and I will leave that for the next owner. There are no dents.
It is copper in color, but it don't know if it's made of copper or if it's brass.
