From Wikipedia:
“The Seder plate is a central part of the Passover Seder, a ritual meal celebrated on the first two nights of Passover. It's a special plate containing symbolic foods that represent the Exodus story and the themes of Passover. Each item on the plate has a specific meaning, helping participants to remember and reflect on the history of the Jewish people's journey from slavery to freedom.”
I obtained this plate recently at an estate sale. There was no information with it, nor was their anyone to ask about it’s origins.
The plate is made of some type of metal. It is round and measures 9.25 inches across. It is dark green with gold colored sections. Each section has a word (in Hebrew) written on it. In the center it shows two people standing before a man sitting in a chair. I assume the man sitting is a Rabbi.
The plate is in beyond excellent condition. There are no dents, scratches, or other evidence of use. A hang tag is on the back and that’s probably how it was displayed. There is also writing on the back, but I do not read Hebrew so I can’t tell you what it says. The only word I can make out is “Israel”.
Can’t find any like it. One of a kind?
I viewed hundreds of pictures to try to find the exact plate, but there is not a match anywhere online. I don’t know if that means it’s rare, or one of a kind. .
Buyer to pay USPS Priority Mail delivery charges of $9.95. Shipping is from Arizona.
INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES: Sorry, I do not ship to locations outside of the United States.
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can fit safely into a single box or envelope. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
