This 8 by 10 black and white photo of John Vella is signed with the following:
"To Moises, #1 Raider Fan!, John Vella, 1972-80, SB X1". The SB X1 refers to Superbowl 11 in Pasadena California. The Raiders beat the Vikings 32 to 14.
Towards the bottom right side it also says 2/95. I purchased the photo at an estate sale, so I don't know if the 2/95 means he signed 95 photos and this is the second one, or if the photo was signed years later in February 1995.
At the moment the photo is protected in a notebook sleeve, one of those hard back sleeves with a see-thru top cover. All but about 3/4 of an inch on the right side is under this see-thru cover. The see-thru cover pulls all the way open but the photo appears to be hung up or stuck against the backing. (I don't want to force it loose and take a chance of damaging the photo). I don't believe it's totally stuck because all the outer edges lift up. It could be a good thing if it is stuck because that will provide a bit of security against bends. You could keep it as is, or cut the excess backing away along each edge of the photo and still have the support.
Although flat, it could mail in a standard large size envelope but you can bet it's going to be bent and maybe folded on its way to you. So, it will ship it in a large flat thick padded mailer. Delivery will be from Nevada via USPS First Class Mail parcel.
