26th U.S. Army Infantry DUI insignia pin. The pin measures roughly one inch. There is no motto. I have 3 of this pin. The only difference in the three pins is that one of them is hallmarked on the back with "E23", and the other two have no markings at all. I found the unmarked pin on a insignia pin collectibles website and it said the unmarked pins were made in Germany during WWII. I can't promise that though because there was no supporting reference info. If you purchase a pin or two, let me know if you prefer the marked or unmarked pin.
The pin has double clutch holders on the back. All enamel and metal pieces are present with no chips or cracks.
The pin is part of a large collection of insignia pins that I purchased at an estate sale. It is attached to a small thin cardboard square. The writing on the cardboard was put there by the previous owner and that's great because I can't imagine how long it would take me to look up and obtain information on over 700 pins. The previous owner wrote "26th Infantry" on the cardboard holder. I'm using his information. He was the expert, so hopefully the information is correct.
