This vintage Evans compact is baby blue in color with a silver mesh lower area. Inside is a mirror in extremely good condition, no age spotting that you'd normally see with mirrors this old. There is also the "powder puff". The only powder remaining is residue.
The top is blue enamel with a pair of lovebirds sitting on a tree branch. There are some spots visible. I don't know if the 'spots" are rust or something else but I was able to pop a couple of them off with my nail. I don't want to get too involved with that because I don't want to take a chance of damaging it. Maybe something like 'Goof-Off" or one of the other cleaning products would work, but I don't have any available so will leave that to the next owner.
The base is a flexible silver mesh material. There are no missing pieces and it is still securely attached to the top.
It measures 2 inches across the top and is 1/2 inch tall. The hinge and closure work perfectly. The top and base edge has some patina that I will leave for the buyer to see.
The Evans hallmark would be above the latch, but it is rubbed in the area where it is located. Researching this, I did find one other (with an asking price of just under one hundred dollars) that clearly shows the hallmark in the exact place where this one is rubbed. I'm asking much less for mine because of the spots on the top and because I'm leaving them for the next owner to either remove or leave them as is.
Delivery will be from Nevada using USPS First Class mail. Buyer to pay $5.75 delivery charges.
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items will safely fit into a single box. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become profitable. It's a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we've got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I try to absorb the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year unfortunately, I have to if I want to stay in business. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the increases when possible.
INTERNATIONAL PURCHASED: Sorry, I do not ship to locations outside of the United States.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they come from homes where smoking or pets were present. Unless otherwise stated, all items are sold in the same condition as when I obtained them.
