The Wells Fargo Legendary plush horses are modeled after actual work horses used many decades ago. I recently purchased a collection of these plush horses at an estate sale.
This is Lightning. Lightning 's claim to fame is that circa 1860 she carried the first mail west from Salt Lake City in a leather saddlebag. Lightning earned her name that day, making the 22-mile trip between relay stations in only 65 minutes!
She is wearing a brown blanket with the Wells Fargo logo. The blanket has a sewed in pouch that represents the mail holder pouch. She is also wearing her head harness. She comes with her paper tag that tells her story and she has the tush tag.
Lightning measures about 16 inches nose to tail and stands about 13 inches ear to foot. She is pre-owned but has no rips or tears.
