On July 29, 1998 the U.S. Postal Service debuted the Fund The Cure / Find A Cure Breast Cancer awareness collectible stamp. The stamp was designed by Ethel Kessler of Bethesda Maryland.
In their first year of issue, these stamps raised 7.8 million dollars to help fund breast cancer research. Normally, special edition stamps are only sold for a period of 2 years, but due to popular demand, the next few presidents signed executive orders to extend the period an additional 2 years each time. Through the end of 2011, a USPS announcement noted total sales of 802 million which raised the amount of funding to 59.5 million dollars.
This stamp comes in a white mat inside a wood frame. The stamp is protected by a glass cover. The frame measures 5 and 3/8ths by 7 inches. The stamp is on the left side. On the right side is an explanation about the stamp and the fund.
Buyer to pay USPS First Class Mail Package delivery charges of $6.99. Shipping is from Nevada.
SPECIAL NOTE about possible partial REFUND of shipping charges:
Every January the postal service increases shipping charges. Previously, shipping charges were based solely on weight and zip code. This year the postal service went a bit overboard. Now, with this year's increase, the postal service has divided the United States in to 8 zones and all packages are charged by weight, size, and destination zone. This latest increase has added an additional .96 cents to up to $2.83 on packages, depending on their destination. I try to absorb some of the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in several years, but that's getting harder with each increase.
To complicate things even further, Google will not promote or show items for sale unless they have a designated cost, or unless the seller uses calculated shipping. My web host is not equipped to figure calculated shipping, so I have to quote a shipping charge using the east coast as the final destination and then refund over payments. When I return the overage, I usually do so by including cash inside the package when it's shipped. My feedback page will show verification that I do return overpayments.
COMBINED SHIPPING INFORMATION
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can fit safely into a single box. However, my web host does not have the ability to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with any of that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
International shipping charges also took a tremendous leap. International shipping will now depend on the country. Buyer must contact seller for international shipping charges before making a purchase. Seller reserves the right to void any international transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
