These earrings were purchased recently at an estate sale, so the age is unknown to me. There was a small informational card with them that stated them to be 'vintage', and called the stone "vanilla jasper". I've never heard of vanilla jasper, but there's tons of gemstones that I've never heard of so I guess I'll have to go with that.
The earrings measure 1.25 inches square. The jasper stones are oval and round in shape. In the center and around the outer edges are rhinestones. At times the rhinestones look purple and at other times they look blue. The color probably depends on what color you're wearing or what color of items are around. There are no markings.
