I purchased this clamper bracelet at an estate sale. The tag that was attached stated that it dates to the 1940s and consists of clear rhinestones, black bakelite, and gold tone metal. Of that statement, I'm not sure about the black bakelite but only because I don't know how to test the black portion to verify it or not. I know bakelite was highly used during the 40s though so I'm going by what the dealer stated it to be.
The inside diameter is 2.25 inches side to side by just over 1.75 inches front to back. It is hinged at the back and opens by pulling apart the mid top section. There are clear rhinestones bordering about 2.5 inches on three sides of the opening area. The mid section is the black bakelite and it extends a half inch past each rhinestone area. The bracelet is unsigned.
All rhinestones are present. There are no cracks in the black bakelite. The gold tone medal has some age appropriate very slight scratches, but nothing that stands out.
