The alarm on this vintage Westclox travel clock will definitely roll you out of bed in the mornings! I obtained it at an estate sale a few weeks ago and have had it sitting on my desk. Each day I wind it and keep an eye on it and it keeps great time.
It is USA made in La Salle Illinois. I've seen statements that this clock is from the 1940s and also from the 1950s. It is Art Deco style.
It is a mechanical wind up clock. It measures 3.5 inches tall, 2.75 inches side to side, 1.5 inches front to back (at the widest locations). The front has a roll up closure to protect the crystal when it's packed for travelling. There are no cracks or scratches on the crystal. I'm not sure of the material but I suspect its bakelite because of the time frame when it was produced. The outside has gold colored bands. The back has a plate that pulls down and serves as a 'kickstand'. Also on the back is an area with a lever that can be moved for fast or slow running. I don't know why someone would want that, but I guess that was standard back in the day.
