I had to do quite a bit of research on this piece and was able to locate only 2 others. One priced at $182.00, and one priced at $225.00. That about floored me, but you can check for yourself. Just google William Bennitt Corkscrew 1883'.
But even with the information I obtained, I just can't bring myself to ask those kinds of prices. I'm offering mine for $25 (discounted from $70 due to an upcoming move and I need to clear out many items).
Mine has a great patina and I will leave it that way for the new owner. It has acorn tips and a bell cap. It is 5.5 inches long. The bell has the words "Pat. May 15th 1883" but some of that is hard to read without a jewelers loop or magnifying glass. Its a bit hard to believe that something 130 years old can still be in this great condition.

SPECIAL NOTE about SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly and again in November for the holiday season (so 3 times each year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their “Delivering for America” plan in which they hope to become profitable. It’s a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we’ve got years to go with multiple price increases each year.
