Gerald Vandermark began making art glass pieces in 1972. His company made such pieces as cameo glass, perfume bottles, paperweights, intricate to bold, large cased vases, Art Nouveau styles, glass animals and more. They made award winning creations.
This perfume bottle is one of Vandermark’s earlier creations and is estimated to be from the early 1980s. It is clear glass with a lavender inside vessel. The bottle, with the ground glass stopper inserted measures 5.5 inches tall. The bottle, without the stopper inserted measures 3 inches tall. The stopper is just under 3.25 inches tall with 2.5 inches at the top that sticks out of the top of the bottle. Inside the bottle is a lavender glass bubble for easy reach of the perfume liquid. The outside area has an etched leaf design.
The bottle is signed on bottom. It is in excellent, like new condition, with no chips cracks or breakage.
I obtained the bottle, along with a few others at an estate sale in Las Vegas Nevada. There was an info card on the table with the bottles that said “Perfume Bottles, estimated early 1980s. I tried to research the bottle, but since it’s a one of a kind, I could only find a couple others that were close in design, but not exact. Those were selling for well over $100.
The home was the most lavish and beautifully furnished home that I’ve ever stepped into. I was honestly worried about touching anything. Whomever the owner was, I’d say had to be either an entertainer or a very important casino employee. In fact, I asked the Estate Company employee whose house it was and was told that they were not allowed to share any information about the owner. There was very little there that I could afford. I did purchase a few of these bottles and a few vintage cigarette cases which I will be
listing also along with a beautiful cross box, but that was it. I mostly just walked around in awe viewing the furnishings and very expensive fancy cars in the back carports.
Due to the weight, the package will mail via USPS Priority Mail. It will be fully insured. Buyer to pay delivery charges of $12.95, which will not cover the full cost, but I just can't consciencely charge what the postal service has raised the price to. Delivery is from Nevada.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become profitable. It's a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we've got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I try to absorb the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year unfortunately, I have to if I want to stay in business. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the increases when possible.
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items will safely fit into a single box. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
INTERNATIONAL PURCHASED: Sorry, I do not ship to locations outside of the United States.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they come from homes where smoking or pets were present. Unless otherwise stated, all items are sold in the same condition as when I obtained them.
