I purchased this picture at an antiques store in Oakland California. It had a small informational card with it, but all it said was 'name written on back of photo'. When I see photos, and if they have names or locations, I always try to rescue them with the hope of getting them back to the family. When I got it home, I took it apart and written faintly on the back in pencil it says "Compliments of your sister Essie to Annie. Loving, April 1, 1917". That doesn't mean the photo was taken in 1917, that could just be the date the photo was given to the sister. Personally, I would have thought the photo was older than that.

The picture is in a very old metal frame. The frame needs to be refurbished as there are a few scratches and a few spots of rust. Measuring at the mid-section, its 8 inches side to side and 10 inches top to bottom. I should have measured the photo while I had it out of the frame, but neglected to do so, but it's probably around 3.5 by 5 inches or possibly a little bigger. There is a small tear on the photo which you should be able to see in my photo. The tear is on the right edge just about across from her waist area. Obviously, it's a black and white photo.

I'd love to return Essie to her family. I'm a genealogist, so I understand what a find like this can mean.

SHIPPING:
Google will not include items in their search feature unless they show an actual dollar amount for the shipping cost. The cost that I am stating is for delivery from Nevada to the east coast. If you are not located on or near the east coast, your cost may be less. I'll be happy to refund a portion of my stated costs should you overpay, OR you can send me your zipcode and I can give you an accurate USPS quote and change the shipping amount to reflect the correct charges should you decide to proceed with the purchase.

Due to the metal frame, there is a bit of weight to it. With that being said, buyer to pay no more than $9.95 USPS Priority Mail delivery charges, possibly less depending on your location.

SPECIAL NOTE about SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly and again in November for the holiday season (so 3 times each year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their “Delivering for America” plan in which they hope to become profitable. It’s a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we’ve got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I try to absorb some of the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year, unfortunately, I have to increase the shipping. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the charges when possible.

I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can fit safely into a single box or envelope. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.

INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES: Sorry, I do not ship to locations outside of the United States.

All items in my listings come vingom either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
