I found these 2 adorable baby figurines at an estate sale recently. They were in the bottom of an old coffee can in a garage. There were 2 more, but they were broken, so only these 2 survived.
I'm not sure what these are made of, possibly soapstone or unglazed bisque. Each is marked on the back "Catherine McCullough DPat Pend". I've never seen the letter 'D" before the word 'Pat" before, so I don't know if that means anything. Researching these, I see several references to them being from the 1930s.
Looking at my photo, the baby on the left has a bottle in its mouth. The baby on the right has its finger in its mouth. They each stand about 2.25 inches tall. I see no breakage or cracks on either one. I dusted them using a small artist brush, but they have not been cleaned mainly because not knowing the material, I'm not sure what to use on them.
