Tashiro Shoten was a shop located in Yokohama Japan. They were in business since well before WWII up until 1954. They were well known for making their own products in their own kilns. To this day, their products are searched for and are highly collectible. This camel teapot is one of their more sought after pieces.

I am discounting the price due to an upcoming move. I'd rather receive less money for it than to have it get damaged by the movers.

The camel is in a sitting position. It measures about 8 inches at the longest points. With the lid on and the handle down, it measures 4.5 inches tall. With the handle in the raised position, it measures 5.5 inches tall. The handle is rattan. I'm not sure if it is ceramic or porcelain. It's open mouth is the spout. The bottom is marked with the Tashiro Shoten logo of an elephant and the words 'Made in Japan'. Above the elephant logo it should say 'Hand Painted', and you can tell where a small portion of those words were, but I believe when it was marked, they got a little too close to the rim and that prevented the 'Hand Painted" words from appearing totally.

It is in very good condition. I neither see nor feel any cracks or chips. The painting is very vibrant. There is some fine crazing, mostly seen in the pink area that represents the saddle.

Buyer to pay $9.95 USPS Priority Mail delivery charges. Shipping is from Arizona. The package will be fully insured.

"SPECIAL NOTE about SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly and again in November for the holiday season (so 3 times each year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their “Delivering for America” plan in which they hope to become profitable. It’s a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we’ve got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I try to absorb some of the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year, unfortunately, I have to increase the shipping. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the charges when possible.
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can fit safely into a single box or envelope. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.

INTERNATIONAL PURCHASES: Sorry, I do not ship to locations outside of the United States.

All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them."
