The wheels on this set of 4 salvaged antique casters measure 1.5 inches across. The stems are straight with a diameter of 1/4 inch. All 4 are exactly alike and are made of all metal, including the wheels. The wheels turn smoothly.
I obtained them at an estate sale and was told by the seller that they came off of an old antique dresser that belonged to her grandmother. The dresser had been stored in a shed on her grandmother’s property for decades. When the shed was cleared out and the dresser was uncovered, it nearly collapsed. These casters are all that was salvageable. Her best guess was that the dresser would have been from the 1940s and possible earlier.

SPECIAL NOTE about SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly and again in November for the holiday season (so 3 times each year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their “Delivering for America” plan in which they hope to become profitable.
