Yes, this is an actual cows jawbone. I purchased it at an estate sale at an old farm. It was hanging on a nail in an old shed that was about to fall.
It measures just over 14 inches long and 7 inches high at the largest points. I believe there are 12 teeth, counting the front one that is broken. A few of the teeth wiggle a bit, but do not come out. However, I'm not wiggling them with too much force. There are 3 holes, about one quarter of an inch in size. One hole is towards the front, the other two holes are towards the back. I don't know if the holes are natural, or were put there for a means to hang it by.
The tops of the teeth, as well as the areas on each side of the teeth have an orange/pink coloring. I'm guessing that someone was going to decorate the bone and never finished the job. I'd imagine that coloring can be bleached out, but I have no idea what to use to get it done.
The bone would be a great piece to use in a crafts project, or decorate it for an arts display. The possibilities are endless.
Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail from Nevada. Buyer to pay $10.95 delivery fees.
SPECIAL NOTE about possible partial REFUND of shipping charges:
Every January the postal service increases shipping charges. Previously, shipping charges were based solely on weight and zip code. This year the postal service went a bit overboard. Now, with this year's increase, the postal service has divided the United States in to 8 zones and all packages are charged by weight, size, and destination zone. This latest increase has added an additional .96 cents to up to $2.83 on packages, depending on their destination. I try to absorb some of the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in several years, but that's getting harder with each increase.
To complicate things even further, Google will not promote or show items for sale unless they have a designated cost, or unless the seller uses calculated shipping. My web host is not equipped to figure calculated shipping, so I have to quote a shipping charge using the east coast as the final destination and then refund over payments. When I return the overage, I usually do so by including cash inside the package when it's shipped. My feedback page will show verification that I do return overpayments.
COMBINED SHIPPING INFORMATION
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items can fit safely into a single box. However, my web host does not have the ability to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with any of that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
International shipping charges also took a tremendous leap. International shipping will now depend on the country. Buyer must contact seller for international shipping charges before making a purchase. Seller reserves the right to void any international transactions where contact has not been made prior to purchasing.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present. All items are sold in the same condition as when I received them.
