Vintage belt buckle from Crumrine Jeweler’s in Reno Nevada. Highlighted is an American Eagle in flight. The front has great detail and is highly etched. The buckle is oval in shape and measures just over 4 inches side to side by 3 inches top to bottom. The bale opening measures 1 and 5/8ths inches, so leave a little room for the belt to move.
I’m guessing the belt to be from the 1980s. Researching the company I find they started out in Santa Ana California but moved to Reno Nevada in 1979. The tag on the back of this buckle states “Reno NV”. The buckle does have an older look to it, and it also looks like it was never used. It is in beyond excellent condition.
From the Crumrine website:
Each buckle still receives the same hand craftsmanship, hand finishing, and hand inspection that went into the company’s earliest products. By using the latest tooling and manufacturing techniques, Crumrine maintains its long standing edge in the categories of engraving depth, detail, luster of finish and overall merchandise selection. More than ever, Crumrine products are synonymous with the word “keepsake”.
As you can see in my photos (especially the back side photo), I have not polished the buckle. The amount of patina verifies that the buckle hasn’t been used in many years and as I stated, I see no evidence that it has ever been used.
