This peacock statue measures about 7.5 inches tall, 7 inches side to side, 3.5 inches front to back. The peacocks are each standing on a log and there are leaves scattered around. The finish is called 'Lusterware'. Lusterware is a type of pottery or porcelain with a metallic glaze that gives the effect of iridescence, produced by metallic oxides in an overglaze finish.
The bottom is stamped 'Made In Brazil" and has the number 4085. It does not state who the maker was. I purchased it at an estate sale so there was no one to ask about a possible date. Researching it online, all I can find is references to Lusterware being very popular in the 1950s and if I had to guess a date I would have said 1950s to 1960s.
There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. The taller of the two peacocks does have a very small spot on its beak that looks like paint didn't get applied. You should be able to see this area in my second photo. In fact, in my main photo it looks like both peacocks have a white line along the side of their beaks, but that white line is from my camera flash.
