Be sure to read the condition section.
This set consists of a teapot, a sugar bowl and a creamer. The set is turquoise green in color with white Crane birds flying through a marsh. All three pieces have gold gilding and all three pieces have beads around the upper rim as well as beads around the lower rim of the lids. There are no missing beads, all are present.
I obtained it from an estate in Beverly Hills California. The info card listed it as a "Nippon Moriage Jeweled hand painted fine porcelain set". It also stated that it dates between the 1930s to the 1950s. All pieces (except for the lids) are marked on the bottom "Made in Japan" in a recessed area.
I googled and researched much of what was printed on that info card and from what I read I'm comfortable with what the seller stated.
-The teapot, with the lid on, measures 6.25 inches tall. Across the top, with the lid off, it measures 3 and 3/8th inches. The size tapers out to 5.25 inches across the bottom. Measuring across from the outer edge of the spout to the outer edge of the handle its 7.5 inches.
-The sugar bowl, with the lid on, measures about 4.75 inches tall. Across the top, with the lid off, it measures 3.25 inches. The size tapers out to 4.25 inches across the bottom. Measuring across from the outer edges of the handles its 5.75 inches.
-The creamer does not come with a lid. It measures about 4 inches tall. It measures 2.75 inches across the top. The size tapers out to 3.75 inches across the bottom. Measuring across from the outer edge of the spout to the outer edge of the handle its 4.5 inches.
CONDITION:
Except for the teapot, all pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. In my last picture (below) you will see that there are 2 very tiny chips on the tip of the teapot spout. The chips are so small that I can't give you a measurement on them, so I zoomed in on the area when I took the picture so you'd be able to see it better. That's why the chips appear large.
SHIPPING:
Unfortunately, the set is too large to fit into any of the USPS Flat Rate boxes. The postage for a 5 pound box and all the associated fees via USPS regular Priority Mail is outrageous and I don't have the heart to charge the entire amount to the buyer. The package will be mailed fully insured and with Signature Required for Delivery. Meaning, someone will have to sign for the package when it's delivered. Buyer to pay $14.95 shipping charges. (Actual charges run around $35 so I'll pick up the remainder).
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING CHARGES: Twice yearly, and again in November for the holiday season (so three times per year) the postal service increases shipping charges. This is what they call their "Delivering For America" plan in which they hope to become profitable. It's a 10 year plan that started in 2021, so we've got years to go with multiple price increases on shipping charges each year. I try to absorb the new charges and haven't increased my shipping charges in three years. This year unfortunately, I have to if I want to stay in business. I'll try to keep it reasonable and even absorb some of the increases when possible.
I do combine shipping on multiple items purchased as long as all items will safely fit into a single box or envelope. However, my web host is not set up to calculate multiple item shipping costs. At checkout, you will be charged full shipping price on each item purchased and I will refund the appropriate amount of overpayment. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can send me an email with your zip code and stating which items you'll be purchasing and I'll calculate the correct combined shipping charges and send you a custom invoice.
INTERNATIONAL PURCHASED: Sorry, I do not ship to locations outside of the United States.
All items in my listings come from either estate or garage sales. I do not know if they come from homes where smoking or pets were present. Unless otherwise stated, all items are sold in the same condition as when I obtained them.
